The annual CU Miss Greek Pageant, organized by the brothers of Sigma Pi Fraternity, is held for the purpose of giving back to the great community of Boulder and surrounding areas while showcasing the many strengths of the Greek System at the University of Colorado. The first Pageant was held in the spring of 2006 with the idea that such an event could unify the Greek System by demonstrating to the community its amazing philanthropic spirit and showcasing women who exemplify core values of each sorority.
That first year, the Greek's large network raised over $35,000 for the local Boulder People’s Clinic. Each year following, the event has grossed over $60,000 annually and has reached out to benefit not only The People’s Clinic (joining the larger non-profit healthcare clinic, Clinica Campesina in 2007) but also Denver’s Tennyson Center for Children.
Today the CU Miss Greek Pageant stands as the most successful philanthropy in University history with combined donations totaling over $220,000. The support of University of Colorado Greeks, Boulder community members, family, parents, and friends has made incredible differences to thousands of lives.
Wondering how your contributions make a difference? With the help of organizations such as CU Miss Greek and others, Clinica is able to treat over 30,000 patients annually. In 2009 alone, Clinica helped deliver more than 1,600 children for local families! Contributions to the Tennyson Center have helped give back a normal childhood to thousands of at-risk kids and strengthen hundreds of broken families. All profits from the CU Miss Greek Pageant help further these wonderful non-profits' respective missions.
All money raised through the pageant go directly to Clinica Family Health Services and 10% of those proceeds are then donated to Denver Tennyson Center for Children!
